New to Church?

What to expect?

When you visit a church for the first time it can be intimidating – we hope that this is not your experience of Northern Hope Anglican Church and that you feel welcome and at home as you join us at one of our services.

On arriving at NHA after finding a parking spot, you will walk up to our main entrance and be greeted by our welcoming team. They will say hi, and hand you a bulletin & bible. If you have any questions at all, about the service or facilities (like “Where is the bathroom?!”) they will be more than happy to help you. Don’t be shy to ask if you are not sure about something!

Our service will go for just over 1 hr. We will open by singing 1 or 2 songs together, followed by a KIDS song (Usually with some silly actions) After this the children will head out to the back room for the NHA KIDs program where they will be taught some bible stories by our Volunteer teachers. We will have a time of bible readings followed by a message from the passage by our Minister or other leaders. Every second week we will then share together in the Lord's supper. We will then have a time of prayer and finally finish on 1 or 2 more songs. After the service our Pastoral team would love to chat to you if you have any questions about the service, something you have heard about Jesus, or if you simply want to find out more. Head up the back to our Welcome Desk and you can grab a newcomers pack if you hadn't already been given one which has some info about our church and activities we run. After the service we will have a scrumptious morning tea.

What should I wear?

Something you already own and that you feel comfortable in! There is no formal dress code at NHA, no need to feel like you have to dress up – but you of course can put on your Sunday best if that is what you are happiest in!

If you have any questions you would like to ask before you come to NHA for the first time please contact us. We look forward to seeing you.
